So January's challenge was 'Through the Window'. I decided to use the mixed media approach so my picture started with tissue and collage materials stuck to the paper as a base then coloured inks dripped on randomly, blues near the top and greens further down. Once dry I worked into it picking out shapes of mountains then adding flower details further down. For the middle distance I looked on the internet for inspiration and saw some images of little mountain villages which seemed to fit the theme, so I just drew a little church to catch the sunlight down in the valley.
New year, new ideas. Seaford Art Group have decided to set us a monthly challenge this year to encourage us all to try something a bit different. I'm very happy about this as it sometimes takes a bit of encouragement to have a go at something different.
