I joined the Seaford Art Club soon after we moved house and have been really enjoying their active programme of painting sessions (indoors and out) and visits to interesting places. A couple of weeks ago we went to Charleston House, home of some of the Bloomsbury Group of artists at the start of the 20th Century. We had a very interesting tour of the house then time outside to paint and draw. The gardens were full to bursting with flowers but I was particularly drawn to these self seeded hollyhocks that had escaped the confines of the garden and planted themselves in front of the barns and farm buildings. Spectacular plants - and all from one little seed in one growing season!
